Julie Adam is an optimist who believes leaders should aim for kindness, instead of perfection.
Imperfectly Kind is an inspiring collection of Julie’s thoughts and ideas — 28 of them — on why kindness is the must-have superpower you need to lead. Whether you are a new leader who has just started your first managing gig or a seasoned executive who needs a new approach, this book will show you how to use kindness to win in business and become a better leader.
Each thought contains a practical pro-tip on how to use kindness to help you improve your skills
in building and coaching an all-star team, giving feedback, having difficult conversations,
making tough decisions and more — including how to be kind to yourself — through daily self-care.
An award-winning music and media executive, who has been recognized as Canada’s first female Vice President of Radio Programming, Julie is also a past recipient of the Rosalie Award from Radio Trailblazers and the Diversity Champion Award from Women in Communications and Technology.
Julie is the current Chair of CARAS (The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, which includes The JUNO Awards, MusiCounts and the Canadian Music Hall of Fame), a member of the Board of Directors for Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Toronto and the former President of News & Entertainment for Rogers Sports & Media.
Julie lives in Toronto with her husband Darren, boys Jack & Cal and dog, Phoebe.
